Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Squads

At Weald Gymnastics, our Women’s Artistic Gymnastics squads in Tonbridge provide a structured and progressive pathway for talented and committed gymnasts.

Squad groups are organised by age and ability, starting from our Development Squad and progressing through to Performance Grades and Classic Challenge level.

Gymnasts are invited to trial from our pre-school and recreational gymnastics classes following ongoing assessment by our qualified coaches. Selection is based not only on ability, strength and coordination, but also on commitment, focus, resilience and a positive attitude to learning.

Competitive Gymnastics Pathway

Our competitive gymnasts train from two hours per week upwards, depending on squad level, within our fully equipped specialist gymnastics centre in Tonbridge. The programme follows the National Development Programme (NDP) and Performance Grades structure, providing clear progression routes for aspiring competitive gymnasts.

Weald Gymnastics squads compete throughout the year at Kent County, Regional and National gymnastics competitions, giving athletes valuable experience and the opportunity to proudly represent our Kent gymnastics club.

Professional Training Facilities in Tonbridge, Kent

Our dedicated gymnastics facility is fully equipped to support safe skill development and performance training. Equipment includes:

• Two sets of uneven bars, plus two additional bar sets over a raised foam pit

• Five balance beams

• Two sprung floors

• Two vaulting tables

This professional training environment enables gymnasts to build strength, refine technique and achieve personal goals within a safe and supportive setting.

Commitment & Support

Competitive gymnastics is a rewarding but demanding sport. Success requires regular attendance, punctuality and dedication from gymnasts, alongside strong parental support. We work closely with families to ensure every athlete has the encouragement and structure needed to thrive within our gymnastics squad programme.
